Centenary Park has been the dominant force in the Victorian Golf League pennant (VGL) over the last 4 years, and found themselves with an invite into the Victorian Golf Association League after a team pulled out. This was a great achievement in itself as they are the first public golf course to compete with the private clubs. After being undefeated through Division 5 beating the following teams: Northern GC, Green Acres GC, Kew GC, and Kooringal GC, Erik Hendrix led the team of young golfers to the semi-finals of Victorian Golf Association (VGA) Pennant. Erik’s team didn’t stop there and took those achievements even further by getting all the way to the semi-finals before loosing in a close encounter with a 6 hole play off to Kew golf club who went on to the VGA competition. There were 48 teams with over 300 juniors and Centenary Park got to the last 4 teams. “Erik was proud of his boys, as they only had two weeks of preparation due to the late invite, showing the depth of Centenary Park’s program”. Erik Hendrix has been running the junior program at Centenary Park for the past 5 years and has more then 90 juniors in it. The program is unique and is considered to be the best one in Victoria.
